Dan O’Neill

Dan is an award winning Irish Film, TV and Video Games composer and orchestrator, guitarist, arranger, mixing engineer and music educator.

He studied guitar at the Royal Irish Academy of Music during his teens completing all classical guitar and theory grades. He then started his BMus degree at the Conservatory of Music in Dublin and majored in Composition. After receiving his award his continued his studies at the Conservatory and went on to do a two-year Masters in Composition where he was awarded an MPhil. He has won competitions for his compositions and continues to write concert music whenever he can.

It was now that he switched his focus to Film and TV work. He won a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and started his second Masters in Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games at their Valencia campus. He graduated magna cum laude in the summer of 2015 and has been working in the industry ever since.

He has scored many Film and TV projects ranging from feature films, shorts, documentaries, promos, advertisements and independent theatre projects. He works from his home studio and continues to build up his CV with new work. Recently he completed work as an orchestrator on a feature film for a client in LA that will be screened at the Sundance Film Festival next year. He continues to work with a select few clients in Los Angeles and is working on a new score for an Irish feature currently.
