Kellie O’Neill began her music studies at St. Agnes Primary School, Crumlin under the tutelage of Nicole Hudson. She is currently studying a BMus performance degree with Simon Aspell, violist of the Vanbrugh Quartet, at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
Kellie was a member of the Dublin Youth Orchestras, Ulster Youth Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra of Ireland for many years. Kellie is currently a member of the Trinity College Orchestra (of which she is also Players Co-ordinator), RIAM Philharmonia, City of Dublin Chamber Orchestra and Dublin Symphony Orchestra. Kellie is also a keen chamber musician and often performs with smaller string ensembles across Ireland.
Kellie has had the opportunity to play with some incredible musicians such as Nicola Benedetti (violinist) Michael McHale (pianist) Daniel Rowland (violinist) and Nils Mo¨nkemeyer (violist) to name a few.
Kellie is very passionate about the Suzuki method of teaching, based on the concept of learning by absorption, similar to how children learn to speak before they have the ability to read. She implements a variety of styles in her teaching, and strives above all else to make learning music fun and enjoyable.
