Maria Stanley

Studied Piano at RIAM, Westland Row from the age of 6, leaving 12 years later to spend a year at College of Music, in pursuit of a teaching Diploma. Subsequently studied music at NUI Maynooth, under Prof Gerard Gillen, Dr Patrick Devine, Dr Barra Boydell, Dr John O’Keeffe. It was here that a love of choral music was developed and nurtured, and many happy years spent singing in the Choral Society.

After a number of years teaching music, interspersed with the birth of three children,and position as Organist in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Firhouse, a return to the choral world was ventured, teaching choir in Gaelscoil Cnoc Liamhna. This was followed by the birth of St Mary’s College Singers in 2008, a multi-award-winning choir based in Rathmines, Dublin.

Currently Maria works with Castle Golf Club Choir, Mezzo Music Academy Adult and Junior Choirs, St Mary’s College Singers and INTEL Workplace Choir. She has studied Conducting with David Brophy and is Musical Director at Castle Golf Club, Rathfarnham. She is part of Bel Canto Trio, consisting of Soprano, Mezzo Soprano and Piano, who perform regularly at Wedding and Funeral Services.
