Nicola began playing the violin age 9 and was hooked straight away. She was taught using the Suzuki method. She went on to study under Louis Roden in Kylemore College. As a teenager she was a member of the Dublin Youth Orchestra and got to perform in the National Concert Hall & Disneyland Paris! She went on to study music in NUI Maynooth and graduated with her BMUS in 2000. Nicola has been teaching violin since.
She also loves choral singing and was musical director of a Junior Folk Group in Templeogue for 10 years and was appointed as musical director of The Oblate Gospel Choir in 2015. Nicola has played at numerous wedding (including her own!), recorded 3 charity CDs with different musical groups she was involved in and is a member of the Now and Then production company who stage a show every year.
Nicola studied to be a Kindermusik educator in 2010 as she saw the joy her children got from pre instrumental music classes and wanted to share that with other children. She now divides her time between teaching Kindermusik to babies, toddlers and pre schoolers, teaching violin and directing a gospel choir.
